Patella Filled With Potatoes – Alu Patra

Alu patra is delicious traditional Indian preparation and is very common in Indian everyday life.
For filling: 4 Mashed boiled potatoes. Then add following: 2 teaspoons coconut, 2 teaspoons sesame, 2 teaspoons brown sugar, 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger, 2 teaspoons garam masala, 2 teaspoons lemon juice, 2 minced fresh hot peppers, 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, 5/1 teaspoon salt.
If you do not have some of these spices, put what you have, no problem … this is the original, traditional recipe. While the filling cools prepare the dough.
Dough: 200 grams of flour (semi-white or smooth), ½ teaspoon turmeric, 2 tablespoons melted butter, 100 ml of water.
The method of preparation: Of these ingredients knead the soft but elastic dough. Roll out cuboid thick 3mm. Spread evenly fill on the dough. Roll up into a long roll. With a sawtooth knife cut slices about 1cm. Fry in deep oil about 5 minutes.
* If you love, or you need a lighter version, you can bake alu patra in the oven.
