Named after the Latin words ros (dew) and marinus (sea), meaning “sea dew”, since its growth is beneficial sea breeze, which carries moisture.

Rosemary is often used in Mediterranean cuisine. In small quantities, is an excellent seasoning for soups, potatoes and soft cheeses.


To get, in the food, the flavor of rosemary you put a stem of rosemary, which is later removed.

Together with thyme, oregano, marjoram and savory it is ingredient in the famous Mediterranean blends of herbs – Herbes de Provence, which is used in the preparation of stews and dishes with tomatoes. This mix is very good in pizza seasoning.

Rosemary enhances the flavor of tomatoes, pumpkins, potatoes, eggplants, peas and lentils. Baked potatoes with the addition of rosemary can be a meal or a great side dish.
