beer bread (no alcohol)1

400g plain flour (white or half-white)
100g rye or wholemeal flour
300 ml non-alcoholic beer at room temperature (one small can)
1 package dry yeast
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon salt
half a teaspoon of pepper
(Optional you can add 40g grated hard cheese of Parmesan)
1 handful of fresh or 2 teaspoons dried basil
olive oil or ghee.

1. Combine all the dry ingredients (flour, yeast, salt, pepper, basil, cheese).
2. Make an indentation in the middle of the dry mixture and pour the beer into it, then in that hole add a tablespoon of honey. Knead the dough well enough.
3. Shape bread as you desired and let it go up about 45 minutes in a warm place.

4. Bake the bread at 200-220 ° C for about 40 min. The aim is to get a nice golden color:-) When its done, sprinkle it with a little olive oil or ghee and then sprinkle with little water and cover with a kitchen towel.

Bread is so tasty that you can eat it without anything, but you can always serve the bread with a little cheese, a favorite salad and extra virgin olive oil;-)
